ABOUT BCA COURSE

Title of the Course:

BCA – The course shall be called Bachelor of Computer Applications

In the 4 year (8 semesters) BCA course, there will be six papers in the subject of Computer Application (Theory and Practical) in the first five semesters and the last is devoted to project work. Each of the six papers will carry 100 marks. Duration of the examination for each paper will be 3 hours. In each paper, the minimum marks for pass will be as per university regulations governing under-graduate course (semester scheme). The syllabus, the scheme of instruction and examination will be as in what follows.

Duration of the Course Course

BCA-The course of study shall be 8 semesters, each semester from 1 to 8 spanning for four months and 8^th semester over a period of 6 months.

Eligibility for Admission

BCA – A candidate with minimum 50% in PUC 2^nd year or XII from CBSE/ICSE Board.

Attendance

A candidate shall be considered to have successfully undergone the prescribed course of study if the candidate has attended at least 75% of the classes in each subject (Theory/lab)

Scheme of Study

The course is of six semesters I to V are for course work and semester VI is for Dissertation/Project work the period of project work is normally of six months duration. The project can be carried out either in the institution or at an Industry/Research organization approved by the head of the department will supervise and guide the project.
