ABOUT M.Sc COURSE

Title of the Course:

M.Sc – The course shall be called Masters in Computer Science.

In the 2 year (4 semesters) M.Sc course, there will be five papers in the subject of Computer Science (Theory and Practical) in the first three semesters and the last semester is devoted to Project work. Each of the papers will carry 70 marks. Duration of the examination for each paper will be 3 hours. In each paper, the minimum marks for pass will be as per university regulations governing post-graduate course (semester scheme). The syllabus, the scheme of instruction and examination will be as in what follows

Duration of the Course Course

M.Sc-The course of study shall be 4 semesters, each semester from 1 to 3 spanning for four months and 4th semester over a period of 6 months.

Eligibility for Admission

M.Sc – A candidate with any degree of a minimum of 3 years duration of Bangalore City University or of any other University equivalent there to with a minimum of 50% of marks in the aggregate of all subject including languages, if any, provided further, that the candidate has studied Mathematics or Computer Science at PUC level or equivalent HSC (XII standard) or at degree is eligible for admission norms. Further, the minimum qualification shall be as per Government norms in the case of common entrance test.

Attendance

A candidate shall be considered to have successfully undergone the prescribed course of study if the candidate has attended at least 75% of the classes in each subject (Theory/lab)

 

Scheme of Study

The course is of four  semesters I to III are for course work and semester IV is for Dissertation/Project work the period of project work is normally of six months duration. The project can be carried out either in the institution or at an Industry/Research organization approved by the head of the department will supervise and guide the project.
